A planned and systematic approach for inspection and monitoring of the school environment is an important and integral part of the health and safety management system.
Inspections should cover the whole establishment including the premises, plant, equipment, work processes and documentation i.e. health and safety policy, risk assessments and accident records. Health and safety inspections should identify non-compliance with legislation or policies and should identify faults which may lead to accidents and possible injury.
